The Real Reason You Need Multi-Day Elopement & Destination Wedding Coverage

Why one-day coverage just isn’t enough when your love story deserves the whole chapter book.

1. Relive the Full Destination Wedding Experience

Looking back at your gallery should feel like flipping through a love story—and love stories deserve full chapters. With multi-day wedding photography coverage, you’ll remember the entire journey, not just the ceremony. You’ll see yourself laughing at the welcome dinner, hugging your best friend at the airport, or dancing barefoot under the stars at the afterparty.

The photos below are from an intimate, multi-day celebration from Pete + Jodie’s destination wedding in Key West, Florida at the La Te Da hotel. They started their celebration a few days early down in Key West, enjoying the sunshine and time with their loved ones. Being able to capture the relaxed and casual time added to the experience and documented the most important people in their lives in the most authentic way.

2. Capture the Intimate Moments of Your Elopement or Destination Wedding

Elopements and destination weddings are intentional by design. They’re about presence over performance and memory-making over tradition. Multi-day photography coverage honors that by capturing the quiet, sacred moments too—like sipping morning coffee with your person or watching the sunset after your vows.

The below photo is one of my favorites of all time. After speaking with my couple, Jake and Mollie, and really getting to know them. I was able to hear not only the specific desires for their wedding day, but I also learned more about the core of who they are. Through this process, I was able to suggest a plan perfectly tailored to them: A low pressure morning of getting ready together and sharing their vows privately. 3. Showcase the Beauty of Your Chosen Destination

You picked a destination for a reason—maybe it’s sentimental, or simply stunning. Full wedding coverage allows me to photograph the landscape, architecture, colors, and textures that make your location one-of-a-kind. Think scenic editorial portraits, sweeping landscapes, and dreamy detail shots that feel straight out of a travel magazine.

Check out this blog post about Nikki and Mike, a couple who took full advantage of their location with multiple shoot days to capture all the landscapes that their Colorado Elopement had to offer. They packed so much into their trip, I had to create a Part 2 of the blog post about them.

4. Document the People Who Matter Most

With fewer guests at a destination or elopement celebration, every person who shows up means the world to you. Multi-day photography coverage allows me to document their joy, laughter, and presence—whether it’s over brunch, poolside, or during quiet in-between moments. These aren’t just candids—they’re heartfelt portraits of your chosen family.

The Beauty of Going Beyond the Ceremony

Strip away the massive timelines and guest lists, and what remains is the heart of it all: you, your partner, and the people you love most. That’s what makes destination weddings and elopements so meaningful. They’re intimate by nature—and every moment becomes heightened, deeper, and more real.

When I’m there to capture the full experience, those memories aren’t lost to time. They become a visual legacy you’ll hold onto forever.

What’s Included in Multi-Day Wedding Photography Coverage?

If you’re planning a destination wedding or elopement, here’s what extra coverage can include:

  • Rehearsal dinner or welcome party
  • Group excursions (sailing, hiking, sightseeing, etc.)
  • Pool parties or casual hangouts
  • Scenic destination portraits
  • Morning-of memories: coffee, breakfast, getting ready
  • Full wedding day coverage
  • Post-wedding brunch or farewell events

Every event becomes part of a visual time capsule—a full, heartfelt story of your wedding adventure.

Planning a Destination Wedding or Elopement? Here’s My Advice:

  • Prioritize experience over perfection.
  • Let go of pressure—this is about joy, not performance.
  • Focus on connection and presence with your favorite people.
  • Choose a location that feels magical to you.
  • Hire a destination wedding photographer who’s there for the whole story—not just the highlight reel.
