This session was an incredible trust building exercise between clients and photographer as we had a HUGE thunderstorm roll through the DAY of this Shenandoah Engagement session. We watched the radar showing that the storm would probably be clearing up around the time of their engagement session. I called up our brave bride and groom that day and said, “Hey, the most we are gambling with here is our time. If we go out there and it is horrible, we just drive back home and shoot for another day….but…if we take the risk….I think it’s going to be EPIC.” Sam and Nicole took the gamble with me and sure enough, we got one of the top 3 best sunsets I have ever had the privilege of witnessing out in the Shenandoah mountains. Just keep scrolling. It get’s better and better!
We started out in some casual outfits for the hike up with just a little bit of rain still sprinkling down. Sam and Nicole embraced the situation to the MAX. I don’t think it would have even mattered if it was full blown, torrential downpour. They brought the sunshine through their love (super cheasy, but truth is truth, mkay?).
The Most Fun Engagement Session Ever
Time for an outfit change, just in time for rain to stop and the fog to roll in across those beautiful blue ridge mountains! Again, I don’t know that these two know a single moment of boring in their lives. They made the entire experience so much fun by fully showing up as their authentic selves! That is what I am all about! The more you can relax and just enjoy the experience, the more magical your photos will be. There is nothing magical about my camera that makes people look like they are in love or having a great time. I do my very best to cultivate an atmosphere that you can feel fully comfortable showing up just as you are, and the love and laughter shines through from there!
Worth the drive in the thunderstorm for the most epic Shenandoah Valley Sunset ever
